As a member of the Bombers on the Prairie Museum group I am happy to annouce that the Parachute Shop Building Located on the Pratt Army Airfield (Pratt Industrial Airport) is now listed on the Register of Historic Kansas Places. The listing was approved Feb 21, 2009 by the Kansas Historic Sites Board of Review at Topeka. We can now move forward with the restoration of the Historic Building and establishing the Bombers on The Prairie Museum inside this building. The museum's mission is to preserve the history of the 2nd Air Forces B-29 training program that operated during WW2 in Kansas , Nebraska, New Mexico and Texas. With the addition of the 29th Bomb Group's Archives and additional research material we will have an excellent library for future research by descendents and interested researchers in the Army Airforces' B-29 Training Program of WW2. Our goal is to make this Museum and Library one of the best in the area for researching Army Airfield Activities during the WW2 time period. Members of "The Greatest Generation" deserve to have their stories preserved and told. Phillip Schulz
