The big former B-29 training base here will be transferred to the city of Pratt today.

A quit claim deed conveying the property will be delivered to city officials today by Louis Layton, chief of the airports branch of the WAA regional office in Kansas City.

Transferred without charge will be 2,570 acres of land, including three 8,000-foot runways, taxiways, parking aprons, utilities necessary for operations, five hangers, miscellaneous buildings and operating and maintenance equipment.

The city has been operating the field as a municipal airport with the government reserving the right to use it in case of an emergency. The property, including land cost the government about $6,500,000.
