My father, W. Raymond Toreson passed away on Jan. 29th at the age of
91. He served as a tailgunner on ship #44 of the 29th Bomb Group
stationed at North Field, Guam. He enlisted in the army in 1940
seeing duty with the 3rd Balloon Squadron at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
After the war started he was assigned to the 305th Bombardment Group
in Chelveston, England, rotated back to the States and attended
gunnery school before shipping out to Guam. He always enjoyed meeting
with old comrades of the 29th Bomb Group
